How to Choose the Best Wig for Your Costume

Whether it's for Halloween or a Cosplay event, a lot of costumes aren't complete until you have the perfect wig.  Finding the best wig can take some time, but it will pay off in the end.  To get started, look at several images of your character.  Take note of the wig's color and style.  Is it platinum blonde or strawberry blonde? Dark brown or black with blue tint? Side bangs or straight bangs? Tight curls or loose waves? Searching and Comparing
Once you know the specific details you want, start searching online. You might be overwhelmed at first by how many results you get, but take your time and look at the ones that catch your eye.  Also, be sure to read the description about the product you look at.  Make sure it's the correct length that you want.  Some sellers or websites may use images of wigs that aren't exactly the one that you will get.  The image may show a long, flowing wig, but the description may say that the length is actually much shorter.  It's also helpful to check the reviews on the product.  Some other buyers might give a better description about the wig, helping you decide if you want it or not.  For example, a review for a curly wig might tell you that the actual wig was too frizzy and knotted up, not like the picture at all.  Now you know not to trust this seller.
     After looking at several websites, select the best ones that you think would work.  Now is when you want to consider their prices and your budget.  Look at where the seller is located, and how much shipping is going to be.  Wigs from places such as China may be a bit higher, but from my experience, the quality of the wig is worth it.  If you have a smaller budget, then pick whichever of your top choices that has the best price with the lowest shipping.
     Another way to find the best wig is by looking at other peoples' recommendations.  Try looking at blogs or forums where people discuss costumes; they may have some very good suggestions as well as links on where to get the wigs.  People who have dressed as the same character you want to be might also give some helpful advice on the costume and makeup.  It's always worth looking at!
