Selling second hand clothes online

Don't mislead your customers, it is nothing worse than receiving something and then it turns out to be something else and then you are out of your time and money. If you are new to selling on ebay, start here the ebay seller information. Let's face it people are here looking for a deal not a high price auction. They can go to the store and pay full price, start your auction off small. I have recently checked out some auctions where the bidding started at $19.99 for a small lot of used clothing.  Keep your shipping costs down. Also communicate with your customer once the auction is over and you have a winner. I like to hear from my buyers and sellers to know where the item is and how long is it going to take.

Photos will sell your items
Include several of photos of your clothes, describe how it looks.  The more photos, the more bids. Make your clothes look appealing, and be sure to show what it is, short sleeve, long sleeve etc. The more people know about it the more they are likely to bid on it. You know the saying pictures are worth a thousand words.

Are the clothes new or not?
Be careful using the term "LIKE NEW".  The clothing is either New Without Tags (NWOT) meaning never worn or washed OR it is used - gently used -excellent used condition (EUC)- meaning it has been washed or worn. Never ever sell items that are torn, faded or just worn out. You are wasting your money listing it, or you will receive a bad rating.  Full disclosure is very important.  The more detailed in your listings regarding an item's condition the more your customers will appreciate your honesty.

Listing Titles
Make sure that you label the clothing you are selling properly, boys, girls, toddlers so people know what they are buying or if it is name brand like Gymboree, Gap, Old Navy, put them in the listing title.

Customers will come back
If you are selling multiple items chances are the buyer maybe interested in those too, be sure to list that you have other items for sale and you will combine shipping. Make it easy for the buyer to be interested in your items.  Just be mindful of the shipping the items once the auction has closed, don't leave your customers wondering if they lost their money. You can ship packages right from your home now with USPS. Who knows you may start buying clothes at yard sales and make your own second hand store and start selling things from your home, it's really good to build up your business.
