Measure the Neck

Equipped with a tape measure, measure around the base the circumference of your neck just above the base and around your Adams apple. The inseam measures the area from the inside of the pant leg down to the bottom of the ankle to determine the length of the pant. To measure an inseam, lay out flat a pair of pants that fit well. Using a measuring tape, measure from the crotch seam along the inside of the pant, down to the bottom of the pant along the seam. Record the result.

To measure the hips, be sure to stand straight with the feet together and wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of the body between the waist and thighs, approximately 8 inches below the waist.
