How to Make a Princess Bubblegum Dress

f you are looking make a fancy dress costume to wear to a Halloween party, you may want to consider the Princess Bubblegum costume. Princess Bubblegum is one of the main characters on the popular Cartoon Network television show called "Adventure Time."  Princess Bubblegum is not only a very smart scientist, she is also the ruler of the Candy Kingdom. She is hard to miss as she wears a very unique crown and dresses completely in pink. She also has very long pink hair that is made up entirely of bubblegum. Princess Bubblegum is a character that many girls enjoy portraying on Halloween and thankfully for the parents, the costume is also very easy to create.

Supplies
If you are seeking out a cute Halloween costume that is super easy to make, you can't go wrong  with Princess Bubblegum. The first step requires for you to gather all the supplies necessary for creating the costume. Items that you will need include a 40-inch long pink wig, cardstock, full-length pink dress, 2 yards of deep blue satin fabric, needle and blue thread, pink boots, glue, gold spray paint, scissors, and a round blue rhinestone.

Creating the Crown
Take your cardstock and cut out a thin circlet that is long enough to wrap around your head. Make sure to add a couple of inches to the length to make it long enough to secure properly. If you want to make the crown adjustable, punch a small hole at either end of the cardstock headband section and run a small bit of twine through it. Make the twine long enough so that there is room to tie the ends of the twine together. Cut out an extra piece of cardstock so that it resembles the shape of the Eiffel Tower and glue it to the center of the crown. Princess costumes are one of the top 10 costumes for girls, and who wouldn't want the opportunity to wear a fancy crown?

Decorate
Once the glue dries completely, it is time to paint the crown. Use the gold spray paint to color in the exterior and interior portions of the crown. Once the paint has dried, glue the blue rhinestone to the top center portion of the crown. If you do not have a blue rhinestone, you can use blue paint to create a rhinestone instead.

Complete the Dress
Now it is time to add accessorize the pink dress. Take the satin fabric at the end and wrap it around the upper portion of your waist, directly beneath the bust line. Add an extra inch to the length and cut a length of fabric to use as a belt. Next, you want to measure the fabric against the neckline of the dress and also cut out a length of fabric to match. You will use this second piece as a collar. Attach the collar to the neckline and cut out a triangle wedge in the front center portion of the collar. Sew the edges of the collar to the neckline of the dress.

Final Steps
Now it is time to put on your Princess Bubblegum outfit. Try on your pink dress and put on your pink boots. Make sure that the dress is not too long so that you end up stepping on it. If so, add a small hem to the dress to decrease the length. Put on your wig and your crown and you are ready to rock!
