Want to try something different? Want to go a little bit off-limits? You too can make common looking shoes become into fun and surprising witch shoes. These go great with long skirts, or short dresses, and could also be used as part of an exciting Halloween costume. This non-conventional dressing element is famous in many places around Europe. It will surely give you the aura of distinction and originality that you're looking for. Here's how.
To start, all you need are basic shoes to use as a base, glitter, some paper and glue. Get some aluminum paper, and mold in order to shape the tip of the shoe. Use masking tape, so that you can keep the pointed end in place. Cut front and back shapes from a cereal box, and put them together with silicone adhesive. After this, you need to fill the toes of the shoe with paper. Use masking tape again to make sure they are secured. This way, you'll ensure a solid tip.
Now, with some liquid white glue, you have to stick small strips of paper on the shoe, so all the surface is covered. Let the first paper layer dry, and then apply another layer for added strength. Phone directory paper is recommended for this type of job, since it will create a thinner layer. Once it is dry, use sanding paper in order to soften the surface, and eliminate any bulging. Use a brush to apply glue on the outer side of the shoe. Before it dries, use a spoon to spread glitter until the shoe is totally covered. After this, let it dry. Once it has dried, you can shape-cut the cereal box, in order to make a strap and a buckle.
All you have to do now is apply water based varnish in the shoe's interior, and let it dry. Now you can decorate it with anything you want, from spiders to small pumpkin colored shapes. The sky is the limit when it comes to letting your imagination flow. You can also fill your new witch shoes with candies, in order to make a surprise for your friends, or children.
