Tips on Measuring Mens' Jean Sizes

Working in retail you experience and learn a lot about how people shop and purchase items. Some things I noticed, particularly in men, are they don't usually try on the clothes before purchasing and they returned pants, shorts, or jeans a lot more than women did. I'm not saying this goes for all retail stores this was just for the one I worked at.

When searching for a good pair of jeans that fit the first thing you want to think about is the style. There is a wide variety of men styles and they are Super Skinny, Skinny, Slim Fit, Relax Fit, Loose Fit, Straight Cut, Boot Cut, and Carpenter. Once you have picked the perfect style of jean the next thing you'll want to do is pick the perfect size for your body. To locate the size of the jean it will either be on the top of the inside of the pants, inside the girth area, or on the price tag. The jean size will have 2 numbers (Ex. 32 x 32). The first number is the waist length and the second number is the inseam length. Here are 2 Tips on how to measure the waist and inseam lengths

Waist Length

The first number that is displayed on the size tag is the waist length. To measure your waist length, go about 2-4 inches down from your belly button and measure the circumference around your waist. Make sure you are measuring in inches.
